I am a self taught artist. Been to a few schools for art, but my style is so unconventional that it didn't do any good to be taught ways that were contrary to my intuition. I began painting in 2004 and discovered I was good at it and enjoyed the therapeutic aspect as well as the creative nature of painting. I'm one of the few artists that don't have a definitive style. I paint in abstract, photorealism and have done portraits. I like all types of subject matter including nature, concert halls and interesting images I've taken as a photographer. As a former radio disc jockey I coined the handle-Navajo Slim and it stuck which is how I've named my website and Facebook page. Music inspires much of what I do and without it playing in the background I tend to stray from my roots.
